A few days ago I saw the painting "Young Man at His Window" and though I had never seen this painting before it seemed so familiar. I was drawn to it so I had to see who painted it and it was painted in 1876 by Gustave Caillebottle. It was recently acquired by the Getty Museum in Los Angeles for 53Million.
I love painting the figure best, then I realized this painting has elements of two my paintings. Kreida in Paris with her reflection in the window and Opera Gardnier View, with the view of the city and same balcony design.
Sometimes I feel I am channeling an artist that lived at another time because I love details and the figure, but nowadays, I feel people are not really interested in this type of art but abstract art instead. Of course, unless it was done in the 1800's by an artist that is no longer alive.
With Love,
